Fred A. Zimmerman
Fred Zimmerman has an extensive background in serving his county and the people of the Southern Crescent. He acquired his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma and completed his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in Law at the John Marshall Law School in Atlanta and was admitted into practice in 1993. Fred gave over 30 years of service (enlisted and commissioned) in the military with numerous decorations, service medals and badges. He was also a deputy sheriff and police officer in California.
While working his way through law school, Fred served as a law clerk for the Fulton County's Magistrate Court and Solicitor's General Office. After passing the Bar, he clerked for the Honorable Robert L. Barr, Jr. Fred has also functioned as a Magistrate Court Judge for Clayton County and as an Associate Municipal Court Judge in Forest Park.
Fred Zimmerman Law represents clients on various civil and criminal matters in municipal, probate, state and federal courts in Henry County and the surrounding areas. His main areas of practice include bankruptcy, family law (including adoptions and probate) and civil litigation such as personal injury cases.
Fred belongs to many professional and civic organizations such as Veterans for Foreign Wars, National Guard Association of Georgia, and Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has served as the state attorney for D.A.R.E. Georgia, Inc., chairman for the Clayton County Board of Aging, district chairman for the Tara district of the Boy Scouts of America, and currently services as the chairman of the advisory board for The Salvation Army Jonesboro Citadel Corps which serves Clayton, Fayette, Coweta, Butts and Henry counties.
